ROAD-VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND ON-BOARD UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road-vehicle communication system and an on-board unit, capable of determining a distance to a prescribed location ahead of a vehicle traveling direction with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: The road-vehicle communication system includes an optical beacon 4 equipped with a beacon control unit 7 which stores distance information to the prescribed location ahead of the vehicle traveling direction in second down-link information 30 configured of a plurality of transmission frames whose total number of frames is a prescribed number and an on-board unit 2 which receives the second down-link information 30. The on-board unit 2 includes a correction part 21c which calculates a correction distance for correcting the distance information corresponding to the traveling of a vehicle C during the reception of the second down-link information 30 on the basis of the total number of frames and the traveling speed of the vehicle C.
