PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image invalidating device, having an excellent invalidating processing efficiency for invalidating an untransferred toner image, efficiently removing foreign matter such as paper dust, talc and kaolin adhering to a brush roller more difficult to remove than the untransferred toner image from the brush roller, and preventing leaking of print information from the untransferred toner image to stably obtain high security performance. SOLUTION: In this image invalidating device 70, when the brush roller 71 abuts on the outer peripheral surface of an intermediate transfer belt 311 to invalidate the untransferred toner image 90, a power supply 73 applies an alternating current voltage to an electrode member 72 to vibrate an intermediate transfer belt 311 through the brush roller 71.
