PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit wear exceeding the durability limit of a clutch, and inhibit the overheat of an engine by maintaining the drive of a pump in a pump control device including a clutch mechanism. SOLUTION: The pump control device 1 includes: a water pump 2 including a shaft 21 rotated by power from a crankshaft 11 and an impeller 22 connected to the shaft 21; a clutch plate 211 transmitting power provided from the crankshaft 11 to the shaft 21 in an engagement state and shutting off the transmission of power to the shaft 21 from the crankshaft 11 in a release state; and ECU 3. The ECU 3 estimates the wear state of the clutch plate 211 based on the temperature of the clutch plate 211, the rotation speed of the shaft 21, and the cumulative wear quantity of the clutch plate 211, and changes over the engagement and release of the clutch plate 211 based on the estimated wear state of the clutch plate 211.
