The plurality of pixel units (1301) include first pixel units that turn on upon photocurrents greater than or equal to a first threshold, and second pixel units that turn on upon photocurrents greater than or equal to a second threshold which is higher than the first threshold. The thresholds for the plurality of pixel units (1301) vary over the range from the first threshold to the second threshold.</p>
