The appliance i.e. baking-oven (10a), has a cooking chamber limiting unit (26a) for limiting a cooking chamber (12a), where the cooking chamber comprises a rear wall (30a), and is closable with a door (14a). A height-adjustment device (46a) vertically adjusts cooking chamber elements (48a, 50a) in the cooking chamber. The height-adjustment device comprises guiding units (60a, 62a) with coupling elements (80a, 82a) that encompass front surfaces (38a, 40a, 42a, 44a) of a wall of the limiting unit. The chamber elements are designed as a cooking chamber divider or a heating plane.
