<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain accurate depth information of an occlusion area. <P>SOLUTION: The device of processing an image includes a correspondence detecting means 31 for detecting correspondence of each pixel among a plurality of images obtained by imaging an object from a plurality of view points, a depth map producing means 32 producing a depth map including the depth information of a pixel whose correspondence has been detected, an image reference area determination means 34 determining an image reference area composed of the occlusion area and the surrounding area, an area dividing means 35 dividing the image reference area into a plurality of clusters based on a characteristic amount of a partial image in the image reference area, an occlusion depth information calculating means 36 for calculating the depth information of the occlusion area based on at least either depth information of a remarkable cluster in the depth map or depth information of other clusters selected based on the characteristic amount of the remarkable cluster, and a depth map updating means 37 adding the calculated depth information to the depth map. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
