PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast material recording device capable of preventing the situation in which video recording cannot be performed in the required timing, by allowing stable write to be performed in a suitable timing. SOLUTION: In a video recording device 12, a management table 125 obtained by relating status information, which represents whether or not video data and audio data are written in a block address of a logical block of an external memory 2 and in the logical block, to a physical block of a nonvolatile memory medium 213 is used to determine whether or not stable write into the external memory 2 can be performed prior to writing of video data and audio data into the external memory 2. Further, ware-leveling processing for the nonvolatile memory medium 213 of the external memory 2 is performed in any arbitrary timing, and with the processing, mapping updating is performed on block addresses in the management table 125 as occasion demands. Thus, an access capability of the external memory 2 is determined from the recording state of video data and audio data into blocks of the nonvolatile memory medium 213. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
