PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of image quality due to unnecessary increase of the number of blank pixels while suppressing degradation of gradation properties due to an influence of a satellite. SOLUTION: A blank patch showing a plurality of kinds of blank patterns is formed by toner (S201), and the blank pattern in which blank is expressed is detected based on the formed blank patch (S202). Then, a threshold of a dither matrix is set so that the highest threshold is arranged in the shape of the detected blank pattern (S210). The blank of a high density image is expressed even under the influence of the satellite by performing binarization processing using the dither matrix set in this way. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
