PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fiber molding which can improve the filtration performance by controlling fiber density in a surface direction and suppressing a fiber density gradient in a thickness direction. SOLUTION: An air permeable flat molding die 37 is arranged in a vessel 31 having a suction port 33. In the vessel 31, suction force X is acted from at least one direction in the thickness direction through the molding die 37 with respect to a slurry-like material S having fibers dispersed in water. The suction force X acting on the slurry-like material S in the surface direction of the molding die 37 is imparted with a gradient in a fiber flowable state. By so doing, a pre-fiber molding 41 is molded by gathering fibers in a position where the suction force is large (First Process), and compressed to mold a fiber molding 23 by acting the suction force on the surface 41b of at least the other direction side in the thickness direction of the pre-fiber molding 41 (Second Process).
