PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a decorative base material, by which printing irregularities if any can be made inconspicuous in performing inkjet coating on projections 5 on the surface of a base material 1 and designability can be enhanced as a result. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a decorative base material 9 by decorating the surface of the base material 1 having projections 5, is configured to go through steps (1) through (3) successively: (1) step of providing a first decorative layer 2 on the entire surface of the base material 1; (2) step of providing a receiving layer 3 on all or only a part of the projections 5 on the surface of the base material 1; and (3) step of printing a second decorative layer 4 by inkjet on the part where the receiving layer 3 is provided.
