PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective apparatus for a building that can easily protect the building from large impact force at low cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus for protecting the building 1 from impact force includes support members 20 of cylindrical shape each having a notched groove 21 opening a cross section, at a portion extending over the whole length along an axial direction, and panel members 10 of plate shape plastically deformed when impact force is applied. The panel members 10 are held to wall structures 1a, 1b constituting a wall of the building 1, through the support members 20. The surfaces of the wall structures 1a, 1b are thereby covered with the panel members 10 in a state of securing a clearance between the wall structures 1a, 1b, and the panel members 10 are deformed with the deformation of the support members 20 when the impact force is applied.
