PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition having increased vulcanization rate and improved aging resistance, and a pneumatic tire produced by using the composition. SOLUTION: There are provided the rubber composition produced by compounding 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber with 0.4-5 pts.mass of e.g. benzoic acid and further compounding a cyclic polysulfide, sulfur and zinc oxide, and the pneumatic tire produced by using the rubber composition.
