摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type rotary electric machine that operates at high output at variable speed in a wide range from low speed to high speed, and improves efficiency, improves reliability, and improves productivity in a wide operation range. SOLUTION: Magnetic pole parts 5 of the permanent magnet type rotary electric machine each comprise a stator having an armature coil provided on a stator core, and a rotor consisting of the stator core 2, a variable magnetic force magnet 3 formed on the rotor core, fixed magnetic force magnets 4, 4, and a permanent magnet. In the rotor core 2, an iron-made magnetic pole part 7 for generating a reluctance torque is provided between the magnetic pole parts 5. At least one variable magnetic force magnet 3 is magnetized in a magnetic field formed by a current of the armature coil of the stator in order to irreversibly change the magnetic flux amount of the permanent magnet of the rotor. In this case, the operation point at the maximum torque is set at a knick point or more in a demagnetization curve of the magnetic characteristics of the variable magnetic force magnet 3 to be irreversibly changed, and the operation point of the demagnetization curve is set lower than the knick point when a current phase is not less than a certain angle in a range of 90-180 degrees which advances from a q-axis reference.
