PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a reduction in piezo-element performance, in a disk drive which positions its head by using the piezo-element. SOLUTION: A piezo-controller 231 in an HDD 1 monitors fluctuation voltage in drive voltage of the piezo-element 17 when following, and adjusts (updates) offset voltage based on a monitored value. In this way, the offset voltage can be updated at proper time without substantial effect on its performance. In a desirable configuration, an offset voltage controller 312 obtains a value directly or indirectly showing the fluctuation voltage in piezo-element drive for each servo sector, and determines the offset voltage based on the value thus obtained and the value obtained in the past.
