The laminator (10) has a drive wheel (22) driven in a rotation direction for driving laminating rollers (14), and an intermediate gear (26) arranged at a drive shaft (18). The drive wheel has a recess (32) turned towards the gear, where the recess has an internal toothing (34) for engaging in an external toothing (30) of the gear. The gear has an internally projecting cam for engaging in a groove (38) in an external surface of the drive shaft, where the groove circulates in a direction opposite to the rotation direction, and the direction axially runs from the gear to the drive wheel.
