<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide squarylium dye having a fluorinated alkyl substituent with a nitrogen atom of a carboxy indolenine structure, and also to provide a photoelectric conversion element of high photoelectric conversion efficiency in a near-infrared range obtained by using the same, and a dye-sensitized solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: Squarylium dye expressed in a formula (1) is used as one for the dye-sensitized solar cell or the photoelectric conversion element. R1 and R2 in the formula (1) are alkyl groups with the carbon number of C1 to C15 of fluorine substitution, and X is C(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, S, Se, or NR<SB>3</SB>, and A and B are carboxy groups. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
