PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection reagent of a heavy metal using a conductive polymer, and a detection method of the heavy metal using the conductive polymer. SOLUTION: In the detection reagent of copper ion, an acid group-substituted aniline-based polymer (A) having a sulfonic acid group and/or a carboxyl group is used. In the method, copper ion is detected by using the acid group-substituted aniline-based polymer (A) having the sulfonic acid group and/or the carboxyl group.
