PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord which is low in shrinkage, excellent in dimensional stability, has improved fatigue resistance, comprises polyethylene naphthalate fibers; and is used for reinforcing a hose, and to provide a hose using the same. SOLUTION: The cord produced by twisting polyethylene naphthalate fibers and used for reinforcing the hose is characterized in that the polyethylene naphthalate fibers have a crystal volume of 100-200 nm<SP>3</SP>obtained by X-ray wide angle diffraction and a degree of crystallization of 30-60%. The polyethylene naphthalate fibers preferably contain phosphorus atom in an amount of 0.1-300 mmol% per ethylene naphthalate unit, and contain a metal element.
