PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for safely, efficiently and strongly constructing a mass concrete structure in a short period of time using concrete blocks that can be engaged longitudinally, laterally and vertically. SOLUTION: Based on a rectangular parallelepiped consisting of an upper face, a bottom face, a front face, a rear face and both side faces having a basic length, width and height, a shape with a bottom space bored leaving legs on both sides of the bottom face is formed as a P unit, a shape with a longitudinal projection extended to the front face or rear face of the P unit is formed as an S unit, a shape with a projecting rod of a truncated pyramid extended to the upper face center of the P unit is formed as a U unit, and a shape with a longitudinal projection extended to the front face or rear face of the U unit is formed as a US unit. The concrete block for the earth-retaining lining method is formed by arranging the S units and US units alternately, and integrally connecting the side faces to each other so that the longitudinal projections are located alternately at the front faces and rear faces.
