PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discriminator generation method, along with a computer program and a discriminator generating device, capable of generating a discriminator that discriminates a predetermined object such as a vehicle from a captured image with high accuracy, and to provide a predetermined object detecting device. SOLUTION: The discriminator generating device 5 acquires an image from an image group captured on a first condition to extract a feature value, and updates a discriminator so as to perform discrimination on a second condition on the basis of the extracted feature value to thereby generate a discriminator for the second condition without using an image captured on the second condition. Otherwise, the discriminator generating device 5 acquires an image from an image group captured on the second condition to extract a feature value on the basis of the discriminator generated by using the image group captured on the first condition, and updates the discriminator on the basis of the extracted feature value to thereby generate the discriminator for the second condition by using a small number of captured images on the second condition.
