SURFACE COMBUSTION BURNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface combustion burner which prevents a local excessive heating to a combustion header and a flashback into the combustion header, and forms a stable flame in the axial direction of a cylindrical barrier. SOLUTION: This surface combustion burner 1 includes: a combustion header 2 performing mixed combustion of a fuel gas F and combustion air A; a metal knit 24 formed of a heat resistant metal fiber and provided on the outer surface of the combustion header 2; and a cylindrical barrier 3 covering the outside of the metal knit 24. The combustion header 2 carries the fuel gas F inside a cylindrical shape thereof, and carries the combustion air A along a plurality of recesses 22 outside the cylindrical shape thereof. Projecting parts 23 between the recesses 22 are formed with a fuel injection hole 21 in a plurality of places in the axial direction L. The surface combustion burner 1 performs the mixed combustion of the fuel gas F injecting from the fuel injection holes 21 and the combustion air A flowing outside from the recesses 22 on a surface of the metal knit 24 to form a flame H inside the barrier 3.
