A speech translation system (1) is provided with a speech recognition unit (11) which recognizes an inputted speech in a predetermined unit and generates character data, a recognition result concatenation unit (12) which concatenates the character data generated by the speech recognition unit (11), a sentence determination unit (13) which determines whether the character data concatenated by the recognition result concatenation unit (12) forms a sentence, a translation unit (14) which translates the concatenated character data, and an output unit (15) which outputs the translation result translated by the translation unit (14). This configuration enables to output the translation result of the concatenated character data containing character data determined to form a sentence, which enables to output the translation result in real time and to output a grammatically correct translation result.
