The metadata collecting device is provided with a caching method determining unit (15) for determining the method for caching the metadata for each service, a service/metadata information cache unit (19) for storing, for each of the caching methods, caching method information including at least the start condition of starting acquisition of the metadata, the search condition of selecting metadata to be acquired, and the end condition of ending the acquisition of the metadata, and a metadata acquisition/update requesting unit (17) for acquiring the metadata according to the caching method information.
