<p>Translucent plates consisting of a thermosetting resin reinforced with glass fibres and parallel nylon threads polymerised onto a light metal frame, are applied fastened and sealed to the concrete plates of a flat roof, with the upper faces of the sealing cap of the translucent plates in one plane, by (a) fastening a support, on the inner wall of the concrete tiles, the support having the form of a frame with a horizontal surface corresponding with the frame of the translucent plate, (b) placing the translucent plate on the support, so that the upper surface of this plate is situated in the same plane as the upper surface of the sealing cap, (c) fastening the lower edge of the frame of the translucent plate to the support, (d) filling the hollow space formed between the translucent plate and the concrete tiles with the aid of a supple filler material over a height equal to the height of the hollow space decreased by a value about equal to half the average distance between the concrete plate and the translucent plate, (e) covering the filling, and (f) filling the remaining space by a cast elastic matrix whose upper surface is placed in the same surface as the upper surface of the translucent plate and of the sealing cap, the height of the matrix being about half the average distance between the translucent plate and the adjoining concrete tile. The filler material is pref. polyurethane elastomer.</p> |
