PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor which prevents a nipping accident of footgear of a passenger, in an inclined part causing a step difference between adjacent footsteps. SOLUTION: This passenger conveyor 1 having the circularly moving footstep 3 connected in an endless shape, includes a skirt guard 5 arranged with a predetermined clearance 7 to both side surfaces of the footstep 3, and a light source 30 for irradiating to the clearance 7 between the footstep 3 and the skirt guard 5 in the inclined part forming the step difference by the adjacent footstep 3 and footstep 3.
