PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it has been difficult to make compatible the maintenance of the communication speed of data and cost reduction between an apparatus having a printing function and an apparatus for providing the other function to the apparatus. SOLUTION: A printing system includes a printing processing part which can print an image based on rasterized bit map data, a PDL processing part which can generate the bit map data by analyzing printing data based on a specified page description language, a first bus based on the USB standard connecting the printing processing part and the PDL processing part, and a second bus for connecting the printing processing part and the PDL processing part. In the printing system, when the printing data based on the page description language are obtained, the printing processing part transfers the printing data based on the page description language to the PDL processing part through the first bus, and executes specified communication between the PDL processing part through the second bus. The PDL processing part generates the bit map data by analyzing the printing data based on the transferred page description language, and outputs the generated bit map data to the printing processing part through the first bus.
