PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing chloropropene, having a high conversion rate and high efficiency. SOLUTION: This method for producing the chloropropene by performing the addition reaction of carbon tetrachloride with ethylene or chloroethylene in the presence of an iron-phosphate ester catalyst in a liquid phase to make chloropropane and then performing the dehydrochlorination reaction of the chloropropane to make the chloropropene includes performing the addition reaction under a pressure in the presence of the ethylene or chloroethylene in both of the liquid phase and gas phase, after the addition reaction, removing the ethylene or chloroethylene from the gas phase and also reducing the pressure of the reaction mixture to start the dehydrochlorination reaction.
