The present invention relates to a method and system for video conference cross-level control. The method includes that the conference management platform of a main conference obtains the conference information of sub-conferences through a multipoint control unit corresponding to the main conference; the conference management platform of the main conference obtains the information of each terminal in all the sub-conferences through the multipoint control unit corresponding to the main conference. The system includes: the conference management platform of the main conference, for obtaining the conference information of the sub-conferences and the information of each terminal in all the sub-conferences; the multipoint control unit corresponding to the main conference, for reporting the conference information of the sub-conferences and the information of each terminal in all the sub-conferences to the conference management platform of the main conference; and multipoint control units corresponding to the sub-conferences, for sending the conference information of the sub-conferences and the information of each terminal in the sub-conferences to the multipoint control unit corresponding to the main conference. Therefore, in the present invention, on the conference management platform of the main conference, the information of the sub-conferences cascaded with the main conference and the information of the terminals in the sub-conferences can be obtained.
