PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for planning maintenance of an electric motor are provided to help a user to maintain the device by monitoring the abnormality and deterioration of an electric motor. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus and a method for planning maintenance of an electric motor, data collection storage unit(20a) collects electric motor information, electric motor configuration, and plant control information. The electric motor information is obtained from a sensor which is attached to an AC motor(50). The electric motor configuration information is obtained from a motor driving device(16). The plant control information is obtained form a plant control device(17) An evaluation unit(20b) evaluates the performance of the AC motor.
