PURPOSE: A display device for detecting noise and a method thereof are provided to prevent the image rupture phenomenon by solving the phase noise and the ghost noise. CONSTITUTION: A packet error rate about the input broadcast signal is calculated(S100). If the calculated packet error rate exceed a reference value, a pilot signal about the input broadcast signal is analyzed(S110,S120). By the analyzed result of the pilot signal, the noise mode applied to the input broadcast signal is decided(S160,S170,S220). A register value corresponding to the noise mode is decided.
