PURPOSE: A coagulant automatic controlling apparatus and a method thereof are provided to predetermine and adjust the optimal insertion amount of a coagulant, and to improve the water treatment efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A coagulant automatic controlling apparatus comprises the following: an online measuring device(110) detecting the pH, the temperature, and the alkalinity of coagulation process inflow water in real time; an insertion device(120) supplying a coagulant to feed water; a floc size index detector(130) detecting a floc size index at the end of a coagulation process; and a controlling system(140) calculating the coagulant injection concentration by data detected by the online measuring device.
