PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling a broadcasting channel in the mobile terminal are provided to manage the broadcasting channels by the region. CONSTITUTION: A memory(160) stores area name by the area code. A control unit(180) grasps the area code information within the broadcast signal. The control unit searches the area name corresponding to grasped area code from a memory. The control unit displays the searched area name to each channel information. A display unit(151) displays the channel information having the area name.
