PURPOSE: A receiving device, and a transmission device and computer program are provided to changeover, and display both 2D image, and 3D image. CONSTITUTION: A receiving section receives image data displaying a stereoscopic image in some portion of a program, procedure description information transmitted with broadcast signals, and supply source information of the stereoscopic image data. A switching instruction information indicates a switching timing instruction of the stereoscopic image transmitted with the broadcast signals, and the procedure description information analyzing section switching a supply source of the stereoscopic image data based on an analysis of procedure description information. A switch notifying section notifies the procedure description information analyzing section of a switching of the stereoscopic image data when switching instruction information reaches while standing by for switching instruction information of the stereoscopic image data based on the analysis, and a playback control section switching to reception/playback of the stereoscopic image data based on supply source information and the switching instruction for the stereoscopic image data. |
