<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information exchange system which enables insertion of advertisement suitable for nature of a system in which users exchange information mutually by building up an acquaintance relation of users on a network by registration. <P>SOLUTION: An administrator server 13 sets up a plurality of ranks according to the number registered as acquaintances by a provider of provided information, and manages the advertisement for inserting in provided information by dividing it into ranks. A user terminal 12 requires provided information which a second user provides. When receiving a browsing request for the second user's provided information from the user terminal 12, the administrator server 13 finds the number registered as the second user's acquaintance, transmits the data of advertisement applicable to the rank according to the number to the user terminal 12 with the provided information.
