A wind-powered device has at least one endless driving device 50; at least one blade 20 connected to the endless driving device; and at least one chain assembly 17 mounted parallel to the endless driving device, and detachably connected to the blade. The blade is driven by wind power and moves along the chain assembly 17, driving the chain assembly and the endless driving device, causing wind power to be converted to mechanical power - used to drive electrical devices or a generator to generate electrical power. The blades are held perpendicular to the wind when connected to the chain assembly, or they may be detached in circumstances of excessive wind. Also claimed are a wind powered device wherein the blade has multiple wheels and a track which abuts the wheels is provided; and a wind powered device wherein a blade has a wheel assembly with rotating wheels and a track to hold the wheels. |
