The invention comprises water-soluble reactive metal-complex mono-azo dyes containing one atom of Co or Cr in complex union with 2 moles of a mono-azo compound of the formula wherein A represents a nitro-o-hydroxyphenyl or nitro-o-hydroxynaphthyl radical in which the benzene or naphthalene nucleus may also be substituted with one or more SO 3 H groups; E represents the residue of an aminonaphthol disulphonic acid which is linked to the azo group in o-position to the OH and linked to the triazine nucleus through the N atom of the amino group; X represents Cl or Br; and Y represents # - chloroethylsulphonyl, vinylsulphonyl or #-sulphatoethyl sulphonyl group. They may be obtained by (1) reacting together an amine of the formula and a metal-complex mono-azo compound containing one atom of Co or Cr in complex union with 2 moles of an azo compound of the formula (2) reacting a metal-complex azo compound containing one atom of Co or Cr in complex union with 2 moles of an amino-azo compound of the formula A-N=N-E 1 wherein E 1 represents the residue of an aminonaphtholsulphonic acid linked to the azo group in o-position to the OH, with 2 molecular proportions of a compound of the formula and (3) interacting in an aqueous medium at a pH from 4 to 7 an azo compound of formula (1) with a Co or Cr salt. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. The dyes are useful for colouring cellulose textile material. |
