P.V.C. for making foams, preferably by mechanical beating, has adsorbed thereon a system of emulsifying agents comprising an alkali metal or ammonium alkyl sulphate, an alkanolamine alkyl sulphate, a condensation product of an alkylene oxide with an alcohol or a phenol and an alkanolamide. The additives are preferably those used in Specification 1,173,541, which also describes the foaming process. The emulsifying agents are preferably added to a latex of P.V.C. and the resin is then dried and crushed. |
