PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce the areas of first and second top cases to reduce the fabrication costs for the liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal display panel(110) which displays an image; a backlight unit(130) which is placed at a lower portion of the liquid crystal display panel to provide light; and first and second top cases(101,103) which encloses the one side or the other side of the liquid crystal display panel. The liquid crystal display panel includes a color filter substrate(113), a thin film transistor substrate(111), and a liquid crystal layer which is exposed between the color filter substrate and the thin film transistor substrate.
