The device has an interface for supplying measurement data relating to a parameter of the eye and defective vision data. A limiting surface (19, 20) delimits a defined volume (18) inside a cornea (5). A control data set for controlling a laser device is produced for the limiting surface. The data set determines a three-dimensional pattern of target points in the cornea. The pattern is disposed such that the surface is formed, after application of a pulsed laser radiation according to the data set, as an intersecting plane that isolates the volume and enables the volume to be extracted.
