RECYCLING METHOD OF TUNGSTEN CARBIDE FROM WASTE CEMENTED CARBIDE

PURPOSE: A method for recycling tungsten carbide from waste cemented carbide is provided to cost-efficiently recover tungsten carbide with high purity from waste scraps. CONSTITUTION: A method for recycling tungsten carbide from waste cemented carbide is as follows. Waste cemented carbide and zinc are put into a crucible and are put into the chamber of an electric furnace. The waste cemented carbide and the zinc are heated by increasing the temperature of the chamber to be higher than the melting point of the zinc and to be lower than the boiling point of the zinc. Tungsten carbide is sunk to the bottom of the crucible because of a gravity difference between the waste cemented carbide and the zinc.
