PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal, a map distribution system and a program, which update a map data, even in the vicinity of a boundary in a communication service area securing only a narrow band radio link, when the mobile terminal moves outside the communication service area. SOLUTION: A map server transmits the map data not updated as the whole map, and a point data to be updated, to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal has: a mobile communication means for receiving the map data and the point data from the map server; a map updating control means for controlling the reception of the updated point data; a map data accumulation means for accumulating the map data and the point data; a positioning means for positioning current position information of the mobile terminal; a map superposing means for superposing the map data and the point data read from the map data accumulation means to generate one map data, based on the current position information; and a map display means for displaying the superposed map data on a display.
