Apoptosis induced by an antibody against Her2

The present invention relates to an antibody or fragment thereof which recognizes an epitope on a Her2 polypeptide that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody produced by the hybridoma cell line ATCC No. HB-12078. The invention further relates to a hybridoma cell line capable of producing such an antibody. Also, the invention pertains to an in vitro method for inducing apoptosis in Her2 expressing cells comprising administering the inventive antibody. Finally, the present invention discloses uses of such an antibody and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antibody according to the present invention.
