Method and device for grouping items

The method involves conveying articles by a conveying element (12) to another conveying element (16) in a continuous line (34), where speed of the latter conveying element is larger than speed of the former conveying element. A support device (20) is attached to the latter conveying element for separating a defined number of articles by forming gaps (24) between consecutive article groups and by delaying the separated article group with respect to the ahead moving article group i.e. bottle group (28). An independent claim is also included for a device for grouping articles comprising a conveying element arranged downstream to another conveying element.
