Thermal treatment of powdered or fine granular material, e.g. silicates such as crude cement flour, limestone, magnesite, dolomite, bauxite, etc., to give optimum process yields in the calcining of cement in various phases, consists of successively pre-heating, dehydrating, and de-acidifying MgCO3 in a shaft heater, and then introducing it into a calciner to decompose CaCO3. It is then passed into an agglomerating reactor to agglomerate the crude material into clinker, which is then passed through a transverse cooler for pre-cooling and finally, after compression through a grid clinker cooler.
|
