A medical device with a base body and a coating, wherein the coating comprises film-forming or enamel-forming terpenoids. This guarantees not only the protection of a balloon catheter, but opens up the possibility of becoming functionally effective in that parameters such as strength and elasticity of the coating, and the effects derived from the coating such as antibacterial effects, are positively influenced. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a device. |
