PURPOSE: A recording device and a control method thereof are provided to optimize an execution condition of a command without changing a firmware. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(24) includes commands, command process information, command execution setting information, and command execution mode information. If the command is received from a host, a controller(21) determines the process execution based on the command by refereeing the command execution setting information. The controller determines the current mode by referring to the mode information. The controller executes the command process by referring to the command process information according to the determination result. |
