PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect and prevent a switching element in an inverter from being broken due to overtemperature, when a motor locks.
SOLUTION: A motor controller for vehicles includes an alternating-current motor that drives driving wheels through a driving torque transmission mechanism; and the inverter that converts direct-current power into alternating-current power by a switching element and applies it to the alternating-current motor. The controller is so constructed as to control the inverter and cause the alternating-current motor to output a torque corresponding to a torque command value. When a lock state, in which the output shaft of the alternating-current motor is mechanically constrained from the load side and will not rotate is detected, the motor controller varies the torque command value at the predetermined frequency by a variation absorbed by distortion in the driving torque transmission mechanism.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
