PURPOSE: A battery management system and a control method thereof are provided to improve the sensing accuracy of the battery management system by correcting a preset value of the battery management system according to internal or external change of the system. CONSTITUTION: A reference data generator(310) generates reference data when an event is generated. A detection unit(330) changes the reference data outputted from the reference data generator. An A/D converter converts the analog reference data changed by the detection unit to digital reference data. A motor control unit(350) corrects the digital data corresponding to the analog data of a preset range stored at a storage unit(340) based on the difference between the value converted by the A/D converter with the preset value corresponding to the reference data.
