PROPULSION AND STEERING ARRANGEMENT FOR A SHIP

PURPOSE: A propulsion and steering arrangement for a ship is provided to reduce fuel in operating the ship by the resistance decrease of a rudder due to the rotating flow of a propeller and the enhancement of rectifying efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion and steering arrangement for a ship comprises a propeller(10), a rudder(20), a bulb(30) and a propeller cap(40). The propeller comprises a hub coupled to a driving shaft and a blade coupled to the hub. The upper and lower parts of the rudder are twisted on the driving shaft in opposite directions. The bulb protects a part, at which the upper and lower parts of the rudder meet, and comprises a nose(32), which is protruded to the propeller. The propeller cap comprises an outer circumferential surface, on which a taper for diffusing the slipstream of the propeller is formed.
