PURPOSE: A system and a method for collecting a toll are provided to calculate the toll by taking a picture of a vehicle passing through a toll gate and extracting the number plate of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: In a system and a method for collecting a toll, a processing unit comprise: a camera information database(230) storing the information of a camera; a road section information database(240); vehicle information database(250) storing the information of vehicles; and a control unit(220) inputs all information in each database.
